Wim Wenders in Paris for Paris Photo
Wim and Donata Wenders inaugurated their first joint exhibition in Europe entitled „Places of the Mind“ yesterday at Polka Galerie in Paris.
The exhibition is built around Wim and Donata Wenders‘ latest photographic work created in Canada between 2011 and 2014, highlighting certain aspects of their particular artistic collaboration. While Wim Wenders focuses mainly on places and landscapes, looking to capture the often tragic beauty of the ordinary, Donata Wenders explores people and gestures. Both, Wim and Donata Wenders share a common aim: discovering the essence and often mysterious presence behind their subjects. The exhibition has been realized in close collaboration with Wenders Images and Blain Southern, London/Berlin.
That same day Wim Wenders also participated in a conversation at Paris Photo together with Dominique de Font-Réaulx, Russel Ferguson and Donatien Grau on „Painting and Photography: Towards a Possible Reconcilliation“.
