„Großer Kulturpreis“ for Wim Wenders
Wim Wenders will receive the „Großer Kulturpreis“ of the Sparkassen Culture-Foundation Rhineland, one of the highest endowed cultural honorings in Germany, in fall this year.
The prize is awarded each year to an outstanding artistic personality or cultural institution particularly important for the Rhineland region.
Native from the Rhineland, Wim Wenders stood for his roots throughout his international career. Since 2012, the Düsseldorf based Wim Wenders Foundation brings together the lifework of the German director and aims to support young talents in the area of innovative cinematic narration.
Previous winners include photographer legend Hilla Becher, sculptor Tony Cragg, musician Wolfgang Niedecken and director Sönke Wortmann.
