4K DIGITALLY RESTORED „TOKYO BOSHOKU“ BY YASUJIRO OZU, PRESENTED BY WIM WENDERS

68th Berlin International Film Festival

This February, as part of the BERLINALE CLASSICS selection of the 68th Berlin International Film Festival, Wim Wenders will present the world premiere of the 4K digitally restored version of the1957 feature length film Tokyo Boshoku (Tokyo Twilight) by Yasujiro Ozu.

This represents an unprecedented opportunity to watch one of Ozu’s lesser-known works, presented by Wim Wenders as one of his greatest admirers and disciples.

Tokyo Boshoku was digitally restored in 4K from a 35mm duplicate negative from the legendary Japanese production company Shochiku. The colour correction was supervised by Takashi Kawamata and Masashi Chikamori, respectively, Yasujiro Ozu’s former assistant cameraman and cinematographer.
