Aspects of romanticism

Wim Wenders, guest of honor, Deutsches Romantik Museum, Frankfurt am Main

Wim Wenders will be making a multimedia presentation on aspects of romanticism for the Deutsches Romantik Museum, which is set to open in Spring 2020.

The Deutsches Romantik-Museum (Museum of German Romanticism) is being built next door to the Goethe Haus in Frankfurt. The existing complex, comprising the Goethe Haus and Goethe era picture gallery, is being extended to include an innovative literary museum. The basis for this museum is provided by a unique collection of German Romantic literature compiled over the past 100 years by the Freies Deutsches Hochstift, which is the supporting organisation of the Goethe Haus in Frankfurt.

The exhibition concept combines the presentation of high-quality originals (manuscripts, graphic art, paintings, everyday items) with interactive and experimental displays, offering a wide variety of experiences that will appeal to all kinds of interested parties. The aim is to offer an experience encompassing all facets of the era of Romanticism while presenting Goethe in a new light.
