Dahinter steckt immer ein kluger Kopf
(there always is a smart head behind it)

The book about the award winning advertising campaign of the FAZ

Wim Wenders' reading the paper, sitting on the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Texas. By doing so he joins many prominent figures who have been featured in the award winning advertising campaign by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Germanys premier daily newspaper. Every image in the campaign shows a person in a setting or location emblematic of their character, profession, personality - always providing a poignant, thought-provoking twist. Yet the subject is always covered by the open newspaper in front of their face. Wim Wenders' picture and the 'making of story' is among the ones featured in a new book by the FAZ which also aims at putting to rest the doubters who never quite believed that it actually was Nadia Auermann, Helmut Kohl, Billy Wilder or in this case, Wim, behind those pages....

The behind-the-scenes images below show Wim with Julia Schmidt, the art director of the campaign, and Austrian photographer Alfred Seiland on location in Paris, Texas.
