	Juergen Knieper was born on March 15. 1941 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Early musical influences through his father, Rolf Knieper (professor on the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe) and his mother, Adelheid Knieper (violinist). First piano lessons at the age of 7.First lessons in composition at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe.
